What is Smart Liposuction?

The Precision of Smart Liposuction

The Smart Liposuction procedure has evolved over the past 15 years to allow for safer and more effective fat removal without post-procedure problems. We have performed thousands of consecutive surgeries without any post-operative infections or significant post-operative bleeding (if lasers are not utilized and fat transfers are not performed during the procedure).

The current procedure starts with an infusion of a large volume of anesthetic solution beneath the skin into the subcutaneous space. Small pen point size openings in the skin allow the insertion of very small vibrating suction cannulas which remove quantitive amounts of fat from different angles, which allows a larger and more smooth removal with great precision.

Lasers are only used with subdermal temperature monitoring, only when there is a small amount of fat and there is a specific need to further shrink the overlying skin as much as possible. When fat is transferred, the Smart Liposuction procedure is used and the fat is harvested, purified, and reinjected using protocols that have been developed in hundreds of patients to minimize any risk for post-operative infections.
